The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has recently licensed its Preventive Maintenance (PM) Basis Database product to Asset Performance Technologies (APT), Corrales, NM, a company formed by the co-developers of the software,
Dr. David Worledge and
Glenn R. Hinchcliffe.
The PM Basis Database has been used by the nuclear power industry to optimize preventive maintenance of most core cross-industry plant machinery. Renamed PRO-M, the software is now being sold, serviced, and supported by APT. Using a database of failure mode and PM task information, PRO-M connects PM tasks to their reliability impact, and hence to the return on investment (ROI) of various PM task decisions.
